Dental Implants – The most comprehensive guide

Dental implants represent the most advanced and ideal option for replacing lost teeth in modern dentistry. In the last few decades, dental practice has experienced incredible progress – interventions have become painless, are solved in just a few visits, and implants offer such a natural appearance and functionality that it is almost impossible to distinguish them from natural teeth.

Implantology has experienced a great expansion in the past two decades, thanks to outstanding results and patient satisfaction worldwide. Experts in the field of oral surgery and implantology in our region follow global trends, applying the most modern methods and techniques to provide patients with superior results that meet aesthetic, morphological and functional requirements.

In today's dentistry, aesthetics and functionality are equally important. Implants not only restore the smile but also stimulate the bone, preserving its structure, which ensures long-term stability and health of the oral cavity.

How long do implants last, how do they stimulate bone growth, and how long does the process of their installation take - you will find all these answers below.

The bone must be stimulated!

A natural tooth, or root, stimulates the bone to constantly regenerate, or create new bone cells. When a tooth is lost, the bone atrophies, or simply melts, because there is nothing to stimulate it.

If you've been missing one or more teeth for a long time, take a look at that empty space in the mirror. It probably looks sunken, worn, and thin, and the reason for that is because there's no bone in that spot – it's atrophied due to the lack of a tooth root.

Bone loss - the biggest difference when choosing a replacement for yourself!

Dental implants are the ideal solution that provides compensation for a lost tooth in its full functionality. Crowns, as their name suggests, replace the lost crown of a tooth, providing an aesthetically, morphologically and functionally satisfactory solution. However, they cannot fully satisfy the bone's needs for renewal and stimulation of new cells. Dental implants, on the other hand, which are partly attached to the bone, imitate a natural tooth and provide the bone with the necessary stimulation, as if the natural tooth were still present in the alveoli.

FAQ:

Why an implant and not a crown?

Does implant placement hurt?
No! This is a completely painless, quick intervention, completed within half an hour, with which you get not only a new smile and restored tooth morphology and aesthetics, but also an improved quality of life, restored ability to chew and digest food properly, so by restoring teeth you are not only doing good to your smile, but also to your entire body.
What material are the implants made of?
The material that bone recognizes as natural, and which is extremely biocompatible, is titanium, and dental implants are made of it. The inventor of titanium as a material with these properties was Dr. Branemark, and what is very interesting is that he was not a dentist at all, but an orthopedist. Quite by chance, in the research he conducted in 1952, he discovered that titanium grows with bone so well that the border in relation to natural bone is simply not visible. In 1965, he installed the first human dental implant, without any consequences or complications, and the patient lived with the implant for the rest of his life.
How long does it take to install an implant?

Is it possible to implant an implant in all patients?
When it comes to implants, time is of the essence – as time passes, the bone becomes thinner and over time there is not enough bone in which to place an implant. Today, this can also be solved – modern dentistry allows for the implantation of artificial bone that will replace bone tissue and allow for the implantation of an implant, but of course, if you contact your dentist on time and consult with him about all possible options, the need for artificial bone implantation will not be necessary.
What if I have periodontitis?

What is ALL on 4?
All on 4 je nadoknada koja se ugrađuje u potpuno bezubim vilicama.
