All-on-4 is a revolutionary approach to replacing all the teeth in a jaw using only 4 implants. The implants are placed in the front of the jaw where the largest amount of bone is located. This method is most often used in the lower jaw, and is intended for completely and partially edentulous patients, patients with diseased gums, and poor teeth that cannot be used as supports.
All-on-6 is a method where 6 implants support the complete fixed work. 6 implants are placed in the jaw, making the entire reconstruction more durable and stable.
The implant installation procedure
The dental implant procedure begins with a detailed medical history, clinical examination, and 3D imaging analysis. If you have sufficient bone, you can begin treatment immediately. Otherwise, if the bone is not good enough, our oral surgeon will offer you additional options when it comes to dental implant placement and a permanent solution to your problem.
The process of installing a dental implant is quick and completely painless because it is performed under local anesthesia. After installation, there is a period of osteointegration, or rather the fusion of the implant with the surrounding bone. The duration of this process in the lower jaw is about 3 months, and in the upper jaw from 4 to 6 months, after which the manufacture of the future prosthetic restoration can be expected.
After the anesthesia wears off, there is pain that is controlled by the use of analgesics, followed by swelling. As long as there is swelling, the implantation area needs to be cooled. Antibiotic therapy is also included, and hygiene is crucial.
