The implant installation procedure

The dental implant procedure begins with a detailed medical history, clinical examination, and 3D imaging analysis. If you have sufficient bone, you can begin treatment immediately. The process of installing a dental implant is quick and completely painless because it is performed under local anesthesia. After installation, there is a period of osteointegration, or rather the fusion of the implant with the surrounding bone. The duration of this process in the lower jaw is about 3 months, and in the upper jaw from 4 to 6 months, after which the manufacture of the future prosthetic restoration can be expected.

After the anesthesia wears off, there is pain that is controlled by the use of analgesics, followed by swelling. As long as there is swelling, the implantation area needs to be cooled. Antibiotic therapy is also included, and hygiene is crucial.
